Because many of our members are in vastly different timezones and are rarely online at the same time, our chatroom experiment was a bit of a failure.  Instead, due to the combination of realtime and delayed messaging Twitter allows, I created a Twibe on Twibes.com called appropriately enough MyGiftedLife.  There is a link in the top menu that goes straight to the MGL Twibe.

Using the Twibe does require a Twitter account.  You can join the Twibe by tweeting the full url of the Twibe ( http://www.twibes.com/group/MyGiftedLife) in Twitter and after that Twibes will follow you.  You don't have to be signed in to the Twibe to post to it once you've joined.  Any post you make including the words MyGiftedLife or (much more conveniently) MGL will be linked in to the Twibe, making surfing and posting an interesting link very easy.

Signing into the Twibe page will show you everyone's recent posts and even allow you to post only to the Twibe page, if you don't want to post to your Twitter feed.

Since Twibes is based on Twitter, you can scroll back to see what your favourite people have been saying or get involved in current conversations.  This flexible timing should solve our chatroom problem.

Please let one of the administrators know if you have trouble getting started, and be sure to share any ideas you have about how we might use this service even more fully.

Added note:  Just a personal security reminder that Twitter is open and public, and even posts made only to the Twibe page may be retweeted; so be careful with personal information.
