We have a fresh start with a new home which will hopefully support our needs for a long time.
This site can be expanded a great deal, but I have set up the usual necessary functions: We have a front page, articles, newsfeeds, a forum, weblinks, secure private messaging and a help section that I will be working on.
For any new visitors, the administration team remains:
Site Admins (called by this software super admins):
- iconoclast
- Quaeritata
- Rikaelus the miracle-worker.
Admins:
While I am completing the help section, please don't hesitate to ask any questions. It is my opinion that it would be helpful to me as well, to remind me of the details which are necessary.
Further, we need articles. Please remember that the site doesn't consist merely of a forum. If a post is important, perhaps it could be an article instead, where it can be more prominently referenced. Maybe we need to shed some modesty to grow. There are, of course, people who are more comfortable with bookmarking the forum page and staying within that area. That's fine -- I'm not trying to push anyone to be uncomfortable -- however, it's not going to build us up. We also need people who can stretch their comfort zone and build the community. Please ask questions, raise comments and voice your opinion. I haven't been insulted yet, and if it will help the community, I'm willing to give that a go too.
To that end, building a community, I suggest a shift in our philosophy. I think this site should encompass all of our gifted lives, not just the issue of being gifted. I'd like to call for volunteers to share their projects, hobbies, interests, some feature of their lives that could be shared for the benefit of all. It has been important to provide peer support by discussing the issue of giftedness, but I think we need to make room for more of the effects being gifted has on our lives.
