Writing an article for MyGiftedLife is meant to be an easy and enjoyable experience. There is no strict house style other than the normal posting policy. Please remember to be careful of what information about yourself or others you divulge for privacy protection, but other than that be enthusiastic and have fun. Know your audience and believe in yourself.
From a structural point of view, it might be best to avoid word processors like Microsoft Word which add a lot of hidden formatting incompatible with the entry window. It's much easier to paste from an editor like Notepad or Wordpad and then correct any formatting issues. I often write short articles directly from the entry window and longer ones in an HTML-compliant editor.
Don't be afraid to write more or less, but 500-700 words is an average size. Since these articles are primarily meant to be viewed on the web page, try to keep your paragraph size short. Capture single thoughts and try to work sequentially, keeping in mind that the reader will probably need to use the scroll function.
You can add images and attachments from the entry interface. Please also remember to choose a good point a couple of paragraphs into the article to add the "Read More" break. This can be placed by clicking at the right spot in the entry window and clicking the "Read More" button below the entry window.
The way to become more advanced at writing and using the interface is to practice, so write often. Your readers and I will appreciate it even more.
